Effective Use of Medication Assisted Treatment (Pharmacotherapy) in an Opioid Dependent Population

Bizzell provides the clinical and administrative staff of opioid treatment programs (OTPs) with up-to-date information and guidance in the treatment of opioid use disorders, including the effective use of the currently approved medications, such as methadone, buprenorphine, and naltrexone.

Effective Strategies for Viral Hepatitis and HIV Care Management

Bizzell provides the clinical and administrative staff of opioid treatment programs (OTPs) with up-to-date information and guidance in the treatment of HIV care management and Viral Hepatitis care management, and its relevance to opioid use disorder. This workshop will focus on applying the participants with a better understanding of the importance of HIV and Viral Hepatitis care management in the treatment of opioid use disorder.

Effective Clinical Skills and Knowledge Competencies for individuals with opioid use disorder

Community Engagement

Bizzell’s workshop on Community Engagement focuses on how medication-assisted treatment addresses drug use and overdose in this country and demonstrates how community engagement can enhance the overall effectiveness of MAT by reducing bias across the system of care.

Improving Cultural Competence in Substance Abuse Treatment

The goal of the one-day workshop is to provide mental and behavioral health staff and counselors with the knowledge, skills, and strategies to serve diverse clients, families, and communities.  The foundation for this training is SAMHSA’s TIP 59 Improving Cultural Competence.  This comprehensive guide was published in 2014 and is a free resource for healthcare professionals.

Strategic Human Resource Management

Bizzell provides public, private, and nonprofit behavioral health treatment programs with the knowledge and information required to recruit, retain, develop, and reward the staff required to that can develop and deliver the programs and services needed by people with opioid use disorders. This workshop will assist public, private, and nonprofit programs with established human resources departments, as well as those without formal HR function.

Peer Recovery Coaching

Bizzell provides certified peer recovery coaches with training about medication-assisted treatment and that prepares them for the MAT Peer Recovery Coaching Workshop.

Performance Improvement

This workshop provides participants with the knowledge, strategies, and skills to implement or revise their organizations’ performance improvement programs. The training includes performance improvement theory; discussion of best practices implementation of performance improvement programs; and interactive exercises showing practical applications of performance improvement processes, such as data collection and analysis, use of performance improvement.

Assessment and Treatment Planning

Bizzell’s workshop emphasizes the rationale for and the process of assessment and treatment planning, to provide internal and external audiences with a clear business case for assessment and treatment planning, and to develop a strategy to integrate assessment and treatment planning into the treatment process.

OTP Accreditation – “How to Achieve it and Maintain it”

This workshop is to provide opioid treatment program (OTP) staff with the knowledge, information, and processes to successfully meet the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment’s (CSAT’s) guidelines and accreditation standards of CARF, JCAHO, and COA.  The workshop also provides techniques that will enhance the ability of clinical and administrative staff to comply with accreditation standards.

Identifying and Evaluating Research and Best Practices

The purpose of the two-day workshop is to provide participants with information about the current state of evidence-based treatment in the field and the impact it can have on treatment outcomes.  The workshop also provides practical strategies, approaches, and resources that opioid treatment organizations can use to identify and use evidence-based practices with their patients.
